Fresh Whole Turkey


  • 1 fresh whole turkey
  •  2 to 4 Tablespoons of grass-fed butter
  • Garlic cloves sliced thin (as many as you like)
  • 1 yellow onion cubed
  • Fresh herbs: sage, rosemary, thyme

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Pull the neck and giblets out and dry the turkey with paper towels. Season inside and outside with salt and pepper. Make little slits all around the turkey and place tuck slices of garlic into the slits. Fill turkey with aromatics like chopped onions, garlic, cloves and fresh herbs. Place the Turkey breast-side up in a roasting pan and brush with melted butter. Tent with Foil and roast for 2 hours (for a 10-12 pounds) add extra 15 minutes per pound if larger.  Remove the foil baste with more melted butter and crank the oven to 425 degrees F. Roast for another hour or until the meat at the thigh registers 165 degrees F.  Enjoy!
