DIY Natural Cough Syrup

This natural cough syrup is made with natural ingredients. The Pineapple contains bromelain, a
substance with anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic properties. It also contains antioxidants that help
protect the immune system. Honey has antibacterial effects, and cayenne pepper reduces mucus and
protects the respiratory system. Ginger has expectorant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Yield: 1 Cup

Ingredients: 2 slices of fresh Pineapple, skin removed but including the core * ½ teaspoon of cayenne
pepper (1/4 teaspoon for children) * the juice of one lime, * one thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger,
peeled and chopped into small pieces. * One tablespoon of honey, preferably organic.

Instructions:
Cut the Pineapple into small pieces, including the core. Combine all the ingredients in a blender, or food
processor until it reaches a puree consistency. The mix can be used as is
